For my first operation on Atlantic soil in about 3 years, i’m way stoked to be playing alongside Version Sound at 88 DC’s new event, Loda.
88 is doing big tings in the DC metro area, with forward thinking events that showcase more than just a diverse music lineup (although they certainly hold that down). Integrating multiple forms of sound, visual, and performance art in a very friendly, deeply interactive atmosphere, their events are “breaking down barriers between the normal, everyday population and artist” (88 co-founder David Fogel, quoted in the Washington Times).
Version Sound is THE DC dub soundsystem — “3 Selectors, 1 MC and 1 Space Echo unit.” Niiice. Check out their new mixes, Twiss Up and Be Thankful. Both are heavy duty.

Today’s episode finds MK2 scattered between Chicago, DC, and SF, a perfect time to reach to more distant shores for a guest selector.
For episode 35, we’re pleased to present Melbourne’s vinylminds (AKA Superpolitik), a dj/producer and co-owner of breaks/down-tempo label Trickery Collective. Classically trained, he also studied jazz and improvisational guitar & piano, and spent much of the 90’s playing in funk & rock bands. But as the millennium turned over, he put his guitar on the shelf and reached instead for a sequencer.
In 2006 he joined with Foreign System to form the Trickery Collective label. 2007 saw the release of the the Silence Makes No Sense EP, which along with singles Vinylminds and Jasmine introduced his style as a soulful, composition-centric blend of downtempo beats, intricate jazz and orchestral arrangements, and moody atmospherics.
MK2 develops and distributes high-quality reality enhancement products to aid in

increasingly confusing world dominated by conflicting truths and competing paradigms,
